Pink Blue Green

Spring is the time for many flowering plants and trees to begin showing their true colours. The Cherry Blossoms in particular are a wonderful sight after mother nature has shed the drab cloak of winter's end to reveal her emerging beauty.

Toronto's High Park had been a previous destination
at this time of year but it is getting absolutely ridiculous with the hordes of people who now visit.  So I was very pleased to learn from my wife that the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington have a number of flowering cherry trees in their Arboretum. We decided to make it our destination on a sunny bright spring day.

I am by no means a horticulturist but found a few of what I believe were very mature trees that have obviously been well cared for and pruned by RBG staff over the years. The large, stocky, mature trunks with younger branches reaching outward and upward to show off their blossoms made for very interesting photographic subjects.

    1. Thanks Kim.
Magnolias, Cherry Blossoms, Lilacs, Trilliums and many more all make up the essence of spring time.
