Sometimes the urge to post the most recent images can be hard to resist ... very hard. An sometimes there is a little help in resisting that urge. This week that happens to be the case, with '"help" coming from two sources.
With over a thousand frames from an early morning outing to capture the Tundra Swan migration to sort through and cull, there was not enough time left in the day (or night) to get through them all ... and I didn't want to grab one for the photo of the week without going through the full process.
So what we have for this week is inspired by some recent reading on wolves and coyotes. Those readings spoke to the nature of ecosystems, the role that wolves and coyotes play, and their unfair persecution. I went rogue in my processing as I looked for a way to convey the sense of fragility that I was left with ...
A recent client inquiry had me looking back through the image catalogue, an experience that I always enjoy, and one, as I've written before, that stirs memories and often results in (re)discovering some hidden gems. This time the quest took me to shots from the La Cloche area I had visited on a business trip to Manitoulin back in 2010.
La Cloche Reflections
It
had likely been 40 years since my last visit to Manitoulin, then as a young
hockey player travelling for a tournament. In 2010 the focus was
on work with some personal time set aside to explore and photograph
in the area of Willisville.
The few years of involvement with sites in Northern Ontario exposed me to the beautiful scenery that so many had already known, written about, painted and yes, photographed. Few opportunities to return have presented since ... and now as retirement approaches, I'm already thinking about how soon I can hit the road with a full complement of photo gear and time ...
I'm a Canadian photographer that loves to be outdoors experiencing and capturing the beauty of the land with my camera. Much of my time is spent enjoying these photographic pursuits. I make images of scenes and subjects that move me visually, sharing them with others through my photographic fine art prints and online.
When not at home in Guelph, Ontario or at our cottage on the Bruce Peninsula, I can generally be found roaming around somewhere in Ontario, almost assuredly with a camera.
